San Diego- San Diego has its first urban park retreat now located in East Village.
It’s just a couple steps away from other eateries, but there is something that sets Quartyard apart from the others.
It is constructed of repurposed shipping containers making for one awesome outdoor experience.
Quartyard opened their gates on March 7 on the corner of Park and Market giving San Diego a new perspective on dining.
Temporally built on an empty lot, Quartyard is offering the public food, drinks, live music, coffee and even a dog park.
The unique idea was created by Rad Lab, who dreamt of turning a vacant piece of land into something useful and beneficial for the community.Their dream was made into reality by building a sustainable community space a couple years after the idea first was brought to mind.

Local craft beer is on tap 7 days a week, along with rotating food trucks and an in-house shipping container restaurant. Quartyard updates their food truck schedule frequently.
Grab a cold one on tap (or in a bottle) and enjoy the space Quartyard has to offer.
With plenty of communal bench table seating, there is room for everybody... even your pup.
Some choices on the menu showcasing San Diego’s local craft beer breweries are:
Modern Times
The Lost Abbey
Mission
Ballast Point
Green Flash
Saint Archer
Quartyard is also offering their specialty of craft cocktails on draft. The two on their menu are what they call the “Live” Moscow Mule and the East Village Margarita.

What makes the Moscow Mule “live” is the house-brewed ginger beer they use.
Come by on your way to work grab a delicious cup of joe. Quartyard features bold coffee from Meshuggah Shack, who is a Mission Hills cult favorite.
Stop by for lunch or dinner to grub on S&M Sausage and Meat, who is a new restaurant originating in North Park.
There are plans to have movie nights and social gatherings close in the future.
The next event is Bikes & Beers on March 28th. This bike ride will be 20 miles through San Diego’s finest spots, and finish at Quartyard with a grand party celebrating the return with two pints of beer in your hands.
If Quartyard does not scream San Diego to you, I am not sure what does.
